Pink Friday!!

So last night, a couple of the girls and I went to the Houston album release party for Nicki Minaj! I've got to give it to the girl, she's gorgeous! You know how some celebrities look nice on TV then you see them in person and its like "eww????" Well she's actually pretty lol. Nicki did an impromptu performance, touching on some crowd favorites such as "Itty Bitty Piggy" and "Roman's Revenge" as well as her verses in the popular club bangers "Bottoms Up" and "Monster." I was especially excited to see Bun B of UGK and Slim Thug in the building. Jas Prince, Ashley of Bad Girls Club, and supposedly Jaguar of "For the Love of Ray J" were there as well.

And a special shout out to the "KenBarb" that called me and my gals beautiful and took a picture with us. We later witnessed him climbing up one of those towers that holds the club lights, just to get Miss Nicki's attention. It worked, and she signed a special shirt just for him.

Nicki Minaj's album "Pink Friday" will be hitting the racks on MONDAY, November 22nd! It includes her singles "Your Love" and "Right Through Me." Be sure to pick that up!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Got out of the house and went out on the town twice this past weekend! Rocking this reversible shirt I was oh-so-geeked about. I know I'm a little EXTRA dewy on one of the pics....but that just means we were having real FUN in the party! Dance! Dance! Dance!

Grab a Matte!

So, I ran across a Google Image picture of Kim Kardashian's nails. She had this immaculately done black on black manicure. Here are the pictures I found:



After I saw this, I decided to experiment with my own O*P*I* matte polish in "Russian Navy."
Step 1
Apply a base coat

Step 2
Apply two coats of matte polish

Step 3
Using a clear/top coat, polish the tips of your nails only... I would suggest using a masking tape or some type of french manicure tape to keep it even.

Step 4
Dry nails, and be fabulous!

Red Lipstick on Chocolate Kissed Skin

One day I decided to be daring, and try out this red lipstick trend. I know what you're thinking, "RED Lipstick, is she crazy?" but I found a way to make it work for my skin tone. Here's how I did it:

Step One
Apply a red lip gloss that actually shows. I used a no name brand, it goes on thick and stays on.

Step Two
Off set the brightness with a light pink or coral gloss. I used Mary Kay NouriShine Lip Gloss in Coral Rose.

Step Three (optional)
If you don't like the extra sheen from using two different lip glosses, dab your lips with a paper towel. DAB! DON'T WIPE!

So last Saturday was very eventful. It started out with my mom getting a makeover and having a photo shoot. I WOULD post pics, but my mom hates the idea of her pictures floating around in cyber space.
After that, we went to a church member's graduation party/barbeque/crawfish boil. (Peep my Tiger Ray original blouse. It was in my collection preview about two months ago).

On from there I went to PJ Morton's Concert and had an amazing time. He has a beautiful voice and an awesome band! I really enjoyed myself.




(I was able to meet him too!)
Then I went to the Foundation Room in House of Blues for a little while.

Afterwards I met up with my sister and a college/church friend of ours and a few of her friends and walked the strip on Washington Street. Topped the night off with a midnight snack at Denny's!

Monday After A Long Weekend

I was inspired by Ciara today...I loved an outfit I saw that someone posted of her...so I recreated it. :o) Besides...it's Monday after a LONG eventful weekend and I couldn't figure out what to wear!

Resurrection Sunday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter/Resurrection Sunday yesterday!!!! This is what I wore (with a sweater!) to my place of worship. I was inspired by the Kentucky Derby. I hope some joy, faith and hope were resurrected in all of you. Jesus came so we would have life and have it more abundantly. Trust His Words. :o)
